Information about Ataturk House & Ethnography Museum
Ataturk House Museum, known locally as Mehmet Matrassy Palace. Located to the east of the city stadium and south of the main road, the museum occupies a three-storey mansion built in 1921. In 1924, Mustafa Kemal Pasha, the founder of Turkey, stayed in this house during his visit to Rize, and in In 1881, the owners of the house gave the house to the governor of Rize to use it as the Ataturk Museum, and the museum was opened on December 27, 1985. On the ground floor are inscriptions and tombstones, and on the first floor, there are traditional weaving tools, as well as other ethnographic items, and on the second floor On display are Ataturk's memorial items, such as his personal belongings, and photos from the Turkish War of Independence.
