The main reason to visit Antalya by lovers of history and archeology is to take a full-day trip to the historical Aspendos Theatre. Home to a Roman theater, this archaeological site is believed to be the best preserved place in the world and one of Turkey's top tourist attractions. The glory days of this dazzling ancient city were during the 2nd and 3rd centuries when most of the ruins that can be seen today were built. It has been completely restored and can accommodate about 15,000 people.
