The ash fountain is in the middle of the city of Kassel, where the huge fountain, which became an elaborate masterpiece in the city center in 1908, was donated and destroyed by National Socialist activists in 1939. After the war, the fountain basin was converted into a flower bed and a fountain. Today, nothing remains of this masterpiece, only the low, near-ground sandstone frame of the fountain basin has been preserved. Today's border stones stand as "ruins" at some distance from the well .
