The Al-Salt Archaeological Museum was opened in 1986 AD, and it consists of a main exhibition hall that houses a large group of collectibles dating back to different eras of history. It contains a collection of pottery dating from the Copper Age, items from the early, middle and late Bronze Age, and others from the Iron Age, glass and pottery from the Byzantine and Roman periods. The Ayyubid (Mamluk) and Islamic era and other exhibits related to the history of the region and the Jordan Valley.
