The Cathedral of the Virgin Mary is one of the main shrines for Catholic communities in the Republic of Belarus. This cathedral is the center of the Roman Catholic religious community and is located in the heart of the historical center of Minsk, near the famous City Hall. The cathedral was built by members of the Jesuit order in the mid-seventeenth century, where the construction of the cathedral began with the construction of the monastery, and thanks to the donations of the city’s residents, a magnificent temple was built in just a few years, and in 1710 AD it was dedicated in honor of Jesus, the Virgin Mary and Saint Barbara. The cathedral is very attractive to the residents and guests of the city and is an important monument in the country, as it was built in the Baroque style of the eighteenth century, and the main facade of the cathedral is richly decorated with openings, vases and columns.
