Information about Archaeological site of Grotte di Catullo
It is an archaeological area containing the ruins of a Roman villa dating back to the end of the first century BC and the beginning of the first century AD, located in the far north of Sirmione on the southern shore of Lake Garda. The area was one of the archaeological collections nominated for the Oscars for 2017. The castle is surrounded by many stunning natural features of water and greenery planted with olive trees. There is also a historical museum near the villa that houses a rich collection of excavations and artifacts.
