The Archaeological Museum of Rhodes is located in the city of Rhodes in the monumental edifice where the Hospital of the Knights of St. John used to be. Its construction began in 1440 and was completed in 1476. The museum contains various collections of archaeological artifacts from different parts of Rhodes and neighboring islands, including the crouching statue of Aphrodite, inspired by the work of a famous model made by the sculptor Doidalsas in the third century BC; It also contains jewellery, mosaic floors, and an outstanding collection of pottery.
