Located in the Hal Shire (Butchers' Hall), this Renaissance-style museum brings together a rich collection of prehistoric antiquities and also displays the 1747 Plan of Rue Namur, which describes the city's 18th century urbanization and architecture. The museum has a chronological itinerary through the impressive collection of Roman and Merovingian antiquities. On the upper floor the history of Namur is presented in seven rooms, as are jewelry and glassware.
