The collection of the Archaeological Museum of Mytilene is distributed in two buildings that are open to visitors wishing to learn about Greece, its ancient civilization and its monuments dating back thousands of years. The old museum building houses a collection of archaeological artifacts from the Roman and pre-Roman civilization, including tombstones, marble statues, sculptures, coins, jewelry, and tools that were used in daily life. As for the second building, it is specialized in displaying what archaeologists found of the remains of the temple of the god Aphrodite during the continuous excavations, where tourists can see the mosaic floors and statues.
