Information about Archaeological Museum of Granada
The Archaeological Museum is located in Casa de Castell, and is originally a 16th-century palace, built in 1539 by the heirs of Hernando de Zafra, Secretary to the Catholic Monarchs, and its distinct facade in the Spanish Palladian style is the work of Sebastian de Alcántara. The museum was founded in this palace in 1879, to become one of the first archaeological museums in Spain, and includes artifacts dating back to very ancient times, through which you can learn a lot about the history of Spain and human civilization as a whole.
