The main objective of the opening of the Corfu Archaeological Museum was to display the archaeological collections discovered in the excavations of the temple of the goddess Artemis, but it expanded to also include collections of art pieces and antiquities found in the ancient church of Corfu, and a number of pieces of unknown origin, and others from the excavations of the old town in Corfu. Museum visitors see statues of Greek deities, artifacts, and ancient equipment revealing many details of Greek daily life at home, art workshops, and markets.
