Al Kout Castle, also known as Doha Castle, is a historic fort located in the heart of Doha, Qatar. Built in the year 1927 AD during the reign of Sheikh Abdullah bin Qassim Al Thani, the castle has recently been transformed into a museum displaying some of the traditional Qatari handicrafts, products and images of daily life with illustrations. Exhibitions of artwork, handicrafts, plaster, wooden ornaments, fishing gear, boats, historical photographs and paintings, including oil paintings of craft workers and daily life, are held in the castle.
