This mosque was built in 1560 AD according to the classical architectural style of Istanbul. So that the dome covers the prayer area and three small domes cover the portico. Because of its precise dimensions and distinctive design, it comes first in the classification before all mosques built in Bosnia and Herzegovina. In the vicinity of the mosque is a domed burial site for the martyrs, who died in the war. In January 2005, the National Monuments Preservation Committee issued a decision to add the Ali Pasha Mosque to the list of Bosnia and Herzegovina's national monuments.
