Alanya Archeology Museum was opened in 1967, to display a collection of works dating back to the Bronze Age, and from the Virgo, Lydian and Urartian periods, some of which were brought from the Ankara Museum of Anatolian Civilizations, and the museum is also expanding and enriching the excavation collections and bringing more of them in different ways periodically. The museum contains two departments, namely the Department of Archeology and Ethnography; The oldest dated work displayed in the Archeology Department, a stone inscription in the Phoenician language, dates back to 625 BC. The most famous exhibits of this museum is the bronze statue of Hercules, which dates back to the second century after Christ, and is displayed in a separate room from the other exhibits, which include Mosaic work, chests and sets of coins from antiquity, classical, Hellenistic and Byzantine times. There are also Turkish and Islamic works dating back to the Seljuk and Ottoman eras. The Ethnography section displays daily life in Alanya by displaying Bedouin carpets, stonework, carvings, clothing, embroidery samples, weapons, jewelry and handwriting that reflects the folklore features of the region.
