The town of Alacati is one of the most famous holiday centers in Izmir, a city famous for its winds that blow throughout the four seasons. The windmills that are used to grind wheat have become their symbol for 150 years, making these mills a tourist destination visited by locals and tourists on a regular basis. Creating a garden in the surrounding area and planting a range of lush plants and trees, it was opened to visitors in 2015.
