The city of Marj is one of the ancient Libyan cities, located almost in the far north of Libya, which is characterized by its picturesque nature. The city was destroyed in 1963, after an earthquake affected its old city, and the local authorities reconstructed the city of Al-Marj in 1970. Today, the city includes a number of important archaeological monuments that attract visitors from all over the country, including the Marg Castle, the remains of Islamic columns and crowns dating back to the Fatimid era, and the Turkish market that still exists today.
