Akdamar Island is the largest of the islands in Lake One. It is located off the shores of the Jivas region to the south and about four kilometers from the shore. It is home to the famous Akdamar Church. It is surrounded by steep rocky cliffs up to 80 meters high, has a land area of 70,000 square meters and a length of coast 3 km and its highest point reaches 1912 meters. The island also offers a charming landscape with almond trees that bloom in the spring months, and lovers of swimming and picnics can enjoy their favorite activities around these almond groves.
