The Ahopsan Forest has maintained its natural state throughout the period of Japanese occupation, liberation, war and the Industrial Revolution, and has been closed to visitors for 400 years. The owners who have managed the forest for 400 years opened the place up to the public, and it was designated as Busan's green belt to preserve water sources, healthy natural environment and ecosystem for a long time.
