Bir Dai Halima is 15 km from the city center of Ahmedabad. Built in 1499 under the supervision of the Begada Sultan's harem, this well cascades in five levels of carved stone columns into two small wells that are mostly dry. The depths are cool even on the hottest day, and it's a wonderfully exotic place. The overflow channels above are reminiscent of times when water levels were much higher than they are today; It is worth noting that behind the stepped well is the Dai Halima Mosque, which dates back to the sixteenth century.
