Taiwan Peace Park was originally the main park of Mount Bajwa, but after years of damage to many facilities in the park, the trees became lush and numerous, reducing the desire of tourists to enter the park. It was renamed the Otomo Baotai Peace Memorial Park or the Taiwan Peace Garden, and was designated to commemorate the anti-Japanese rebels during the Qing Dynasty.
