Sidi Bou Said is a tourist city located 20 km from the capital Tunis. It is the first site in the world to be placed on the list of protected heritage. The foundation of the city dates back to the Middle Ages. It is located at the top of a rocky cliff overlooking Carthage and the Gulf of Tunis. It is a sparsely populated city. It is inhabited by about 5,000 people only, and is characterized by its amazing architecture, as all the houses are white, and their doors are antique blue with amazing inscriptions and decorations. The city is attributed to a righteous guardian named Abu Saeed al-Baji. It is one of the coastal cities overlooking the coasts of the Mediterranean, and some believe that this city is similar in its details to the Greek islands, and that is why it is called by some the Greece of the East. Among the most important tourist attractions in the area are Al-Kharja, Al-Kahwa Al-Alia, the tomb of Sidi Abu Said Al-Baji, and many others. This city is frequented by millions of tourists every year.
