Ismailia is located in the north-east of Egypt. This Egyptian city is known locally as the "City of Beauty and Magic", and is located on the west bank of the Suez Canal. The city has developed in recent years in the wake of the population increase, so the “Gamal Abdel Nasser Tunnel” was established in the city center, and the “Mostaqbal City” was built to accommodate the population increase and is located on the Cairo-Ismailia desert road. The governorate also began renovating and building new bridges on the Ismailia Canal. The city is famous for its abundance of gardens, natural parks, and its fresh air due to the lack of industrial facilities compared to the neighboring governorates. It also overlooks the banks of the Suez Canal, the Bitter Lakes and Lake Timsah, and due to its mild weather throughout the year, in addition to its proximity to Cairo, Sharqia and Qalyubia, it is used as a summer and winter at the same time. It is characterized by a large number of gardens and parks, and has many areas dedicated to fishing along Lake Timsah, Bitter Lakes, Fayed, Abu Sultan and Fanara. Tourists can also practice various types of water sports.
