Malaysia exempts all Arab countries, except Djibouti, from a prior tourist visa, and you can obtain the visa immediately upon your arrival at the airport.


However, the duration of the visa obtained at Malaysia International Airport (KLIA) varies according to each Arab country. There are nationalities that obtain a visa for 90 days, others for 30 days, and some for only 14 days.


Malaysia Visa:

Single-entry Malaysia visa: The tourist visa for exempt countries allows only one entry upon arrival at the airport or any of the border crossings. You must exit Malaysia before the expiry of your visa.

90-day visa: Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Jordan, Yemen, Sudan, and Syria.

e-Visa Malaysia: e-Visa is an online visa application system that allows foreign citizens to apply for an e-visa to enter Malaysia from the comfort of their homes.


Nationalities eligible to apply for a tourist visa for Malaysia include China, India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Bhutan, Serbia, Montenegro, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Guinea Bissau, Ivory Coast, Liberia, Mozambique, Nigeria, Afghanistan, Angola, Burkina. Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Colombia, Republic of the Congo, Djibouti, Equatorial Guinea, Ghana, Hong Kong (CI/DI), Kosovo, Mali, Niger, and Rwanda.


Validity period for Malaysia e-Visa:

1. One-time visa:

- Valid for one trip to Malaysia for up to 6 months from date of issue, provided the passport remains valid.


2. Multiple entry visa:

- Valid for multiple trips to Malaysia within 6 months from date of issue, with a 30-day stay allowed per entry, provided the passport remains valid.


Documents required to apply for a Malaysia e-Visa:

- A recent passport-sized photo.

- Passport data page with a validity of no less than 6 months from the date of travel.

- A confirmed return ticket if possible.

- Birth certificate for minor applicants.

- Proof of paid accommodation.

- Other supporting documents such as bank statement, current country visa/residency, and long-term residency.


Malaysia electronic visa (evisa) approval process:

  • The e-Visa application is subject to the approval of the Malaysian Immigration Department or Malaysian diplomatic missions.

The e-Visa for Malaysia must be printed and presented upon arrival at entry points in Malaysia.
