Serbia visa for Egyptians - all the details!

The Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Cairo announced through its official website the decision of its government to allow Egyptians to enter Serbia without the need for a prior visa from July 30, 2022 until September 30, 2022, on an experimental basis.


After this period has expired, it will be necessary to obtain an entry visa to enter Serbia.


Types of visas in Serbia

There are two types of visas available to travel to Serbia:


1. Short-stay visa (Category C):

This type of visa allows you to stay in Serbia for up to 90 days, within a period of 6 months or a year from the date of your arrival. It is issued as a single entry or double entry, and is intended for tourism, business and other short travel purposes. These Serbian visas include:


- Tourist Visa

- Business visa

- Visas for other travel purposes


2. Long-stay visa (Category D):

This visa allows you to stay in Serbia for a period of 90 or 180 days for purposes requiring a long stay.


Who is eligible to apply for a Serbia visa?

Anyone from non-visa-exempt countries is entitled to apply for a Serbia short-term visa, provided that the purpose of their travel is:


- Carrying out an impractical activity that does not result in any financial profit.

- This activity must not exceed a maximum of 90 days.


Permissible travel purposes include:

- tourism

- Visiting relatives or friends

- The medical treatment

- Attending a course of study not exceeding 90 days

- Attend vocational training not exceeding 3 months

- Participation in artistic, sports, cultural or scientific activities

- Conducting scientific research

- Visiting for business purposes (such as attending company meetings or signing agreements)


Generally, the purpose of the travel must be for non-practical activity that does not have a financial gain, and this activity must be for a maximum of 90 days.

Requirements for obtaining a Serbia visa:

Serbia visa requirements vary according to several criteria, including the purpose of the trip, the type of visa required and your nationality.


Documents required for all types of visas:

- A passport valid for at least three months, which must contain blank pages (minimum two pages).

- Fill out, sign and submit the visa application form.

- A recent colored personal photo, 3.5 x 4.5 cm in size.

- Round-trip travel ticket.

- Proof of sufficient funds to cover your expenses while staying there, such as a bank statement or credit card statement.

- Health insurance that includes coverage for the entire period of your stay in Serbia.

- Invitation letter:

- For tourism : Proof of payment for the trip must be presented and issued by a travel agency (i.e. voucher or payment receipt).

- Business visit : The invitation letter must be certified by a company in Serbia.

- Private visit : The invitation letter must be certified by the competent authority in Serbia.

- Pay the visa fee (60 euros).


Applying for a Serbia visa:

You can apply for a Serbia visa through any Serbian embassy or consulate in your country of residence, through the following steps:


1. Fill out the application form available here.

2. Print the form and sign it.

3. Book an appointment by contacting the Serbian embassy or consulate in your country of residence.

After the application deadline:

- Make sure you come on time and submit your visa application.

- After submitting the order, you will receive an email to confirm receipt of the order.

Visa processing time:

- After submitting the application, it takes between 21 to 30 days to process the visa application.

-If approved, you will be notified of the decision via email.

- You must present your passport to the embassy to have the visa installed inside it.


Where to apply for a Serbia visa

An application for a Serbian visa must be submitted at any Serbian embassy or consulate in your country of residence.

You should note that there is no e-Visa available for Serbia, and applications for a Serbian visa can only be submitted online if your visa has been extended or your residence permit has been approved.

Applicants for a long-stay visa (category D) must obtain prior authorization from the diplomatic and consular mission of the Republic of Serbia abroad. Accordingly, all applicants must submit their applications in paper form.
