The history of Qiddiya extends back centuries, as it was one of the stops on the pilgrimage and trade routes in the Arabian Peninsula. With the beginning of the modern era on April 25, 2016, the Kingdom’s government announced Vision 2030, a program to achieve sustainable prosperity. The Qiddiya project was unveiled on April 7, 2017, which promotes economic diversification, promotes tourism, and encourages a culture of entrepreneurship, in addition to supporting youth and women’s empowerment, and increasing household spending on entertainment.

Six Flags stands out as one of Qiddiya's landmarks, featuring six zones containing 28 rides and attractions, including the Falcon's Flight roller coaster, which is the tallest, highest and fastest in the world. This park is considered a prominent addition that distinguishes the city and provides a unique entertainment experience.
Water park
The water park is considered the first of its kind in the Kingdom and the region, as it includes 8 distinct areas that include 81 luxury cottages and the first surfing school in the Kingdom. The park offers a wonderful experience for surfing enthusiasts of all levels, which enriches the recreational activity in the city.
Sports areas
The city of Qiddiya also includes advanced sports projects, as it includes 43 sports facilities, including a football stadium that can accommodate 40,000 spectators and complies with FIFA standards, and is the headquarters of Al-Nasr and Al-Hilal clubs. The city also contains a motor sports area, which is the first of its kind in the world, as it includes a speed circuit that attracts car racing fans.
