Located in the Bozyazi district of Mersin, the ancient city of Nagydos reflects the cultural beauty of Mersin with its fascinating history, as well as the advantage of a small island that can be accessed by sea. The history of the city dates back to more than 2000 BC, when it was the colony of Samos in the seventh century, and it gained the identity of a coastal city through openness to trade. Today, the island includes a number of distinctive artifacts that are displayed exclusively in the Mersin Historical Museum due to its importance.
