The Clock Tower is an archaeological tower dating back to the year 1200, one of the tallest buildings in San Gimignano, with a height of about 52 meters, and it is considered the second tallest tower in the city after the 54-meter-high Grossa Tower. It is a stone tower resting on a square base. It has a single window that visitors can climb to view the entire city from above. The tower is located within Piazza della Cisterna, surrounded by a group of monumental buildings, along with many local restaurants, cafes and gift and souvenir shops.
