The Museum of Natural Sciences contains a collection of about 400 objects, including stuffed animals made in the technical and scientific taxidermy technique, parts of extinct animals, skulls, skeletons, and biological materials preserved in a liquid medium. The museum is responsible for about 25% of Brasilia's fauna, and its focus is to provide an educational method for the importance of preserving many indigenous animal species through its educational program and itinerant museum that runs through the schools there.
