One of the finest beaches in the eastern Algarve, Baril Beach not only boasts fine white sand and crystal clear sea water, but also provides insight into the region's fishing heritage, once the site of a small tuna fishing community. Tourist facilities, and the most prominent feature of this beach is the "cemetery of the marinas"; It is a memorial dedicated to the abandoned fishing community, where hundreds of anchors formerly used by the fishing fleet have been placed on the sandbanks.
